There will be a new seminar series on Resistance and Reality Checks sponsored by the UM Ann Arbor chapter and SACUA. The series will be focused around and respond to the executive orders being issued from the current Trump administration. The first seminar will be on March 12, 1-2 pm, with Professor Julian Mortenson and Professor Samuel Bagenstos from the Law School on “Executive Orders”; the second seminar will be on April 2, 1-2 pm, on “Federal Funding Threats and the Independence of Universities”; the third seminar will be on April 23, 1-2 pm, on “Models of Resistance to Authoritarianism.”
The AAUP National Day of Action will be on April 17, 2025. Our chapter is holding an event, in lieu of our April general meeting, centered around higher education issues in Michigan and feature speakers from UM Flint, LEO, and GEO.
